After-Dinner Speeches

written by: James Gabriel

@James_Gabriel1

golden glow on
linen white
brandy flows
cigar smoke
burns my throat

the chime of silver
on china
his voice drones on

I focus on a drop of
condensation slowly
sliding
down
the
glass

after-dinner speeches make
me
sleepy
