the autumn is here
shall be with me forever
in the colours of the leaves
that the branch chucks away
the leaves that lie scattered
on the browning grass
the same that i collect
every morning
for keepsakes
for they carry the love of days past
a part of the life lived
soaked in the all the colours
of a romantic spring
still ignited
like the fiery summery passions
they carry my heart
and yours too
with all our love within
as we call out to each other
and hear our names
in their warm papery rustles
writing a lyrical epic
on the cold winter’s chest
