My light may have been what attracted you, but I was completely taken by how elegantly you danced in my darkness. There’s a part of me I keep hidden there, away from everyone else. It’s much too dark for some people so it’s better kept out of sight. Others mostly enjoy the brightness, but there’s always two sides to every story. I don’t even like that part of myself, but somehow you found it and brought comfort to it. While in your presence, there was tranquility among all of my demons. You definitely have a way with them that no one else has ever come close to. They were so mesmerized by you, they were rendered speechless. You obviously weren’t afraid of the dark because that’s where you held out your hand and said, “Dance with me.”

I battled alcohol and drug addictions for many years and lost everything in my life including my daughters. I've now been clean and sober for over two years and I've had my girls back for 1 1/2 years. I've slowly been trying to regain everything and build a good life for us.
