Autumn has fled,
its fallen flourish
lay now wet and still.
Winter is here in all its drab attire.
And yet,
the needles
of the lonely pine
are still
grasping at the grey.
Forget not the evergreen's humble reminder that
of all virtues,
perhaps persistence is the most venerable.
