Fun and Games at Away Days
written by: Paul Anthony Obey
A chance to show peers, a part of the crowd,
Well hidden, the thoughts of the true,
Atop a high pedestal, hailed all around,
Accepted by authority of the few,
Shrink to invisibility, so they really can’t tell,
How offensive some views really are,
They looked down on majority, continue to swell,
With pride of them coming this far,
Be vague on the outcomes that can be achieved,
Restricted by consensus of law,
Speak freely and honestly, you will be believed,
With a nod and a wink to the poor,
So, praise our dear leaders, for fear of their wrath,
Their good grace to give us acceptance,
A paradise of sorts, despite this bloodbath,
We give full agreement, with reticence.
Paul has worked within the Social Housing environment for all his adult life in one guise or another, but has recently decided to write full time to share a view and hopefully inspire reaction in others to take another look at life, beyond the confines of self, question the generally accepted truth and make the World a better place for everyone. One step at a time!
My work is dedicated to all of those who believe in what I am trying to do and to some of those who don’t yet get it.
