In the Day

written by: Steve Pearson

Dance like rain,
smattering
upon the livid pond.
Thread the thrill about
your lithe and wild will
and dance,
and dance
and dance your fill,
till sweat streams and
muscle cries
"let this be done!"
Yet you've just begun
to spend your youth.

Fly with abandon,
above the veil of fear
for nothing lasts forever.
Soar upon the slender skies
of the day, the now,
and disavow tomorrow.
For days will come
when sudden care
will, just be there,
and time screams
"this is done!"
Yet you've just begun
to spend your youth.

That's me at the front of the photo. I'm an atheist, socialist, humanist, poet and soon to be novelist. From here to there and a lot of shit in the middle. That's life.
