Contentment in your words,
desire in your voice.
It is better to know
than not to know.
My love for you has grown;
rejection failed to quell.
Still, it is better to know
than not to know.
A weary smile upon
my face, “Of course,” I say,
“It is better to know
than not to know.”
A storm has come to drown
my faith; redemption wins.
For it is better to know
than not to know.
A wraith has come and gone.
A fancied hope has died.
But it is better to know
than not to know.
