Nettlebed with your garden’s so grand where we live life and love take our heads from the sand

Your blind’s drawstrings tap away time we’re no longer blind to reason and rhyme

September sun drawing children to play, angelic voices break the tranquility of day

Cool breath of air through the window at night, tapping out time it soon will be light

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

It was my Father’s birthday yesterday and I performed this poem that I had wrote at his bedside when in the care of Sue Ryder at an open mike event in his memory.

(Sue Ryder’s Henley Hospice. The former home of the Fleming Family of James Bond fame.)
