Looking for Love

written by: Brian Wayne Smith

Hoping for forever as you dined,
Don’t waste your time.
You’re adults,
Speaking honestly should not have been mistaken.
“Not looking for anything serious.”
Should not have been misconstrued as being delirious.
Your bodies became intertwined
Why were you looking for love in the midst of lust?
You set yourself up for an unnecessary heartache.
It’s not her fault
You received that heartbreak.

My name is Brian Smith. My writing pieces may have a different style than the "normal" pattern of poetry, and I'm totally okay with that. It's my individuality that will get notice. Not the pattern it was written in. I speak from my heart and share personal experiences. What started as an outlet to clear my head became a passion and I love it.
