Mermaids

written by: Joyce Butler

A ship went down in seas long ago
Mermaids don't drown, they just turn to foam
I've heard them sing in scales no-one knows
Then dive away through waves far from home
No prince to save, no tale to be told
What's gone is rare like diamonds on your soul.
