Sudden stillness,
where usually
a constant roars.
Nothing even whispers;
whimpers of words,
impossibly strung.

Perhaps I've finally
polished all the pieces...

Only so many boulders
you can overturn
before left naked, exposed;
buried beneath an avalanche
of vulnerability.
