PARANORMAL ACTIVITY

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY

written by: Aida

A bright sunset in a crimson hue, bows down
to give way to a harvest moon, aching its
way to cover the sky in pitch black.
While waning slowly in dark velvety clouds,
the blue moon reigns as queen of the night.

Heavy duty iron chains banging profusely
the school flagpole.
Autumn leaves, swirling, screaming wildly
to escape. Howling sound swept, to clear
the cold wind soaked in foggy clouds.

Paranormal activities stroke at six sharp.
Weeping sound, creepy noise breaking
the silence of the campus. An odd
figures roaming around, playing hide
and seek in every nook and cranny of
the old main library.

Spooky feelings blanketed the classroom,
Eerie sounds coming from nowhere,
my head turned left and right to check.
A headless soldier walked slowly towards
me and a white lady in a long dress,
sobbing uncontrollably.

I felt hard as a rock and frozen to death
but, my feet told me to run for my life.
I reached out for my purse and was out of
the building in seconds.
Inside the car, I could feel my hair rising.

I came back the next day to report
for work and saw fresh blood scattered
on the floor, I called the head school,
to check and school maintenance
to mop the classroom floor, before the
students start coming.

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

It’s a true story, happened in 1973. My first teaching job. The University was built in 1611 and used as a garrison for enemies of war. I kept to myself, what I experienced that night. They might think I’m crazy. The Principal asked me, what time I left school… I said, past 6 in the evening.
