Take this Boy Away

written by: Alyssa Brocker

@Atelgy

they never
teach you about
pain.
in school.
why not?
they should tell you
about the worst kinda pain.
emotional.
mental.
in your head.
the kinda pain you feel
full force
and can't do anything
to halt.
it's just
that letting someone
you care for go
feels like
being violently stabbed
and asking for more.
even when you know
you know down to your
deepest core.
you're not right for each other.
that doesn't make it suck any less.
you write and write
about him every single
fucking day,
hoping, praying,
he can be the boy
in your stories.
but, he isn't.
and he will never be.
you sit staring
at the speaker
he left in your car
wondering why you
got in it in the
first place.
