Winter’s Sun

After the wind roars and tearing down limbs
Epitaphs for Spring, Summer, Autumn, Indian summers and everything in between
As ground froze and the stars sing hymns
Perpetually calling forth shorter days and longer nights
Trees begin to careen
Caught in an ice spider’s web
Winter’s sun
Arctic chill
The world in the web the ice spider spun
Golden cloud
Twirling snow
Piercing the frozen shroud
