Without Him written by Alyssa Brocker at Spillwords.com

the first day I met him
he reminded me of a song
and i didn’t know any of the words yet,
but it was my new favorite
because the melody made me feel
new
and
exciting
and i’m in my car,

you make me feel the kind of tired,
you know the one,
where it's burning behind your eyelids,
but you can't shut them because you're driving,
and you have an end goal,
but it's dark
and no one is on the road with you,
but you know if you shut your eyes
for just one second
it's all over

it fucked me up when i ended things with
him
but it was nothing compared to when i lost
you

because,
everyone wants to be with
someone,
right?

i was never taught how to
get over
someone

and

things never work
out
the way they're supposed to
not even with

me
 and
you

and i’m reminded of when i went here with
you

no matter what

i’m gonna
write about
us
i’ll always
 write about
us
