A Drop of Water

A Drop of Water

written by: Gautham Pradeep

There is a drop of water on the table.
A single reflection,
in a single moment.
I add a few more drops,
till the seam simmers.
The waves on the marching ocean,
I watch and step aside.
Where to nor why,
the march continues?
Into this drop of water,
perhaps.

This is a moment.
A drop of water rests quietly.
Buds bloom and wither,
and a sky astonishes.
A moment grows into a minute,
then into an eternity.
A drop of water grows into an ocean.
Tiny fishes with small fins,
peep into my room.

A drop of water.
Delayed closure of a window.
Gale escaping in between.
Young boy watches intently.
The waves end their march,
a rainbow on the tabletop.
