A Night In The City

Stray cats and bats
roam the streets
with fallen leaves
groups of groupies
with high heeled giggles
and unsteady steps
bums bound for their hide
with spirits in bottles
to blow their minds
stardust and rusty bins
TV blare and shouting
orchestrate the symphony of the night
thousand shades of grey
paint a picture
and cops are non the wiser
I am an amateur writer of poetry and short fiction, mainly in German but also in English. I started writing at the feeble age of 53 years, that was three years ago.
