A Rivers Manifesto

written by: Natalia Aeschliman

My manifesto
Two rivers destined to run together
But never to touch
Never to combine into one
Always by each other's side
Guarding each other's path
Making an oath of secrecy
For what may never be
Of an eternal love
Oh if only one brief embrace
If only one brief encounter
Feeling your waters against mine
If only to dream
To rise
To become
The vast ocean they were destined
If only is so far away
From here.

MAY 2016 AUTHOR OF THE MONTH at Spillwords.com
My name is Natalia, I was born in Puerto Rico. I live a very simple life with my husband and 2 beautiful kids.
I keep my heart humble, and my words beautifully vulnerable.
I write because it is in my soul.
I write because I don't know how to live without it.
There's something beautiful that only poetry can create in your soul.
