Afterbirth

Afterbirth

written by: Eva Lantsoght

restlessly seeking touch
into a black hole
writhing to find unity

pulpit of the gods
inching toward my secret garden gate
clicking tongues, flipping tips

free tickets and spilt coffee in
the endless mornings
painful pleasures
juice drying, slowly
birthing outside in

pull me deep inside
flesh, lips, nipples,
scaffolds of white heat

hesitant reaches,
boxing up my aching skin and veins
inverted mushrooms growing slowly

lightning
as Kali I create from chaos
forgetting the little death

here I linger without arriving
hungover stars, purple mud, wandering
breasts humid with craving
knives in the carpet
bless me, please
restrain the bullets

hunger that chews on clocks
resurrecting from circles
your pull I cannot resist
you do not worship me anymore

my ears ring as we melt away
