All Hallows’ Eve

All Hallows’ Eve

written by: Gail Constable

A witch stirs a
Cauldron, brewing
A magic potion with
Eye of newt and
Wings of bats,
Scribing a spell on
The skin of
Innocence, others
Fly in, parking their
Brooms with the
Valet, tipping for
No splinters, black
Cats are in this year,
The inky darkness
Of the moonless
Night, the veil thins
To non-existence,
While children
Trick or treat, the
Monsters climb
Through the closet
Doors to reside in
My mind this
Happy Hallowe’en.
