Always Looking Up

Always Looking Up

written by: Hopeless Optimist

Have you ever just stopped yourself before
falling?

The forward momentum halting short of
an eclipse.

Your eyes – filled up with light,
as the moon chases the sun into the darkness.

As I leaned heart-forward into the idea of you and you slipped farther because I wanted a love that was bigger than the weekend.

Wrecked and tumbling—dizzy. spinning—and slow like speeding, and all I can think about is how you could have held time and space and that I would have fallen hard. the endless hope of the little girl under the covers and dreaming with a dangerous optimism—
Always looking up!
