As You Wish

someday my prince will come
Buttercup always said to suitors
even when blackberry juice hid
the iocane powder
or the needle sharp dagger
pressed to her side
or climbing the cliffs of insanity
her mind never doubted, her voice never clouded
until he said
as you wish

I write for fun, escape and expression. I'm too old to be fashionable or to know what trends are. I luckily live north of Edinburgh, halfway up a hill, semi-retired with my wife and our cocker spaniel. The kids have flown, and I have more time now, selfish time. In a never-ending cycle of trying to finish a novel, to finish something started fifteen years ago. I'm a member of a small self-run writing group with two lovely ladies who are a great inspiration and support.
