Tyler Flashman
I am a poet and musician. I compose and arrange the poems into songs and perform, produce and publish them through my ensemble, Damien Planet and the Fvck Stephens. I am hoping to receive critical acclaim for this poetry, which I consider the foundation of my musical practice. I am primarily influenced by primitivists like Captain Beefheart. I try to create a modern take on dadaism through my writing and performance. I have no particular intent other than to break the catatonic state, which I try to do with absurdism, fanaticism and absolute frankness. I also enjoy other sorts of music like rock-and-roll, folk and classic music, namely bands like the Garden or composers like Thomas Campion, Thomas Tallis and John Dowland.
