Autumn Morning

Autumn Morning

I walk into desire
and envy, losing myself
entirely

threads of self fall from
a heart

on a calm Autumn morning

crisp
with cinnamon scents tangled in
a thread

of knowing, of becoming

pain, unmistakeable
reminders of who I’ve been

and, of who isn’t there

lifting
my eyes, I call out for help

realizing
love is always there
even when we’re ill-prepared
