Christmas Blooms Flowers

sugar cookie kisses,
lights dancing in windows
and glass bulbs
hung on an
evergreen;
presents wrapped beneath
a tree—
warmth
of a togetherness
with family,
protection and love
twined around
with invisible string;
compassion and good will
to all men—
christmas blooms
such lovely
flowers
in the frosty heart
of winter,
thaws
the bitter cold away
for a short while.
