Christmas Magic

Christmas Magic

Christmas magic
has been tossed into the air,
each moment seems lighter
bringing us so much cheer.

Flickering strands of colored lights
dance to tunes,
lighting up the neighborhood
for Santa’s foggy nights.

Candles placed in the windowsills
as a beacon for our loved ones,
providing them safe passage
for their journey home.

Dashing in and out of department stores,
fulfilling wish lists,
handing out our hard-earned cash
with no regrets,
or looking back.

A happiness
sings inside our heart,
as we go about each day,
greeting strangers as we say
“Merry Christmas!”
