We glance at each other
With guarded suspicion
And nod our approvals
Without an admission
The guilt that we share
Is the proof that we're after
The truth in the dare
That turns sadness to laughter
Within or without
Or whatever you tell me
Goes over my head
Because I see through you
It's always the case
Cause you don't deny me
It's one of the reasons
Why I think I love you
I look in your eyes
And see no tomorrow's
No picket yard fence
Or cars in my driveway
There's only the time
That you let me borrow
The kisses you steal
And secrets you tell me
We know where we stand
And leave it at that
No worries or hang ups
To mix in the moment
Expressions of feelings
That always fall flat
Just clandestine magic
That is our contentment

I do not consider myself a writer but I love to write. Neither a poet but I love poetry. I steal bits and pieces of time to scratch out ideas on note books, laptops and cell phones. I live and work in Florida fabricating custom canvas and other fabric products and sometimes costumes.
