Constellation of Ruin
written by: Jackie Figueroa
The stars did you no favors,
Gemini smiled on you and left you hollow.
You orbit yourself, always out of reach,
Chasing your own shadow across the sky.
And in your wake, the doors all slam.
Star-crossed, I stand on the other side.
It echoes — your silence, a warning bell.
Venus was never on our side.
A cruel truth for the scales to bear.
What once felt fated,
Now lingers in the in-between
Of all it could have been
And what you made sure it would never become.
You’ve always had a way with words,
You called it timing.
I call it fear dressed in grace.
You speak in riddles and myths,
And paint yourself a realist.
Truth is, you’re a constellation of ruin.
Mercury may rule over you,
But the sound of truth
Was never meant for you.
