Curl
written by: Ari Wang
Lying in bed, I’m
curling into a dot of negligible
volume, in a mathematical way, until I can
finally float into the air;
I’m curling inward, becoming dust on the period
of your unfinished sentence.
Knees to ribs, I’m curling like a cat.
No hunting today. I keep ruminating—
sounds, sights, scents fed into me without
my consent, consuming the last filament
of strength.
Finally, I can fall back into bed,
sink deep among the springs,
and be born again in this process of symbolism.
