Dear Austin II

written by: Tylia Flores

It has been 365 days since I last heard from you,

I don’t even seem to understand why I’m writing to you,

As life goes on,

seasons change,

new memories are made,

old memories fade,

the pages of our books began to turn,

and we start to write another 365 pages,

and new chapters begin,

as we sometimes take a look back,

at the people who have impacted our lives,

and sometimes I think of you,

Admittedly I’ve missed you,

and I hate to say it,

can’t help the way my heart aches for you,

and the way I feel inside my body when I think of you,

so many different emotions,

anger, sadness, broken, shattered,

my heart is shattered like broken glass,

as I try to pick up the pieces,

cause I got to move on,

as much as I can,

with a broken heart,

I call my own,

so I say goodbye to you,

wishing you well
