Earth Mother

Earth Mother

written by: Kate MacDonald

Earth Mother awakened to yet another grey and gloomy morning.
She then met with ‘Nature’s Ninjas’ (not her choice of sobriquet)

“We thank you four for that Make Our Rivers Run Not Ooze gala day.
Yes, it raised awareness, but we still need more people to join the fight.

Last week’s Pick Up Lunch And Some Litter didn’t go down too well.
The trips to sewage plants called From Urinals To You. No, never again.

Electronic pathways disturb that close connection I have with humankind.
Each day’s disruptions deplete and dim my light; I must be able to recharge.

We can’t go back in time; our only hope is to drastically re-educate the world.
To then eliminate the brain drain, let’s give our world another chance to grow.
