Endless Thoughts

Endless Thoughts

written by: Sulochana Nepal

Thoughts come and go,
Clinging to fleeting moments before they fade.
Yet, some are stubborn,
They slip into the mind,
Slowly and silently,
Only to grow into something immense.

Again and again, the mind replays the same story,
Why? For how long?
Questions wait patiently for answers,
Unaware that some are never easy to find.

We rarely realize the brain’s true power,
Unaware of the quiet brilliance of our neurons.
It writes the script, creates the characters,
Assigns every role and even calls ACTION.
Movies do end eventually,
But, these thoughts keep playing on an endless loop.

I have now stopped telling my mind to direct every scene,
Now I find peace in simply noticing,
Just a brief glimpse of a thought,
Without giving it a stage to perform non-stop.

For the endless loop leads nowhere,
Other than simply magnifying the suffering.
Often without ever knowing,
The other side of story, quietly waiting to be seen.
