I want to write something beautiful for you,
But I don’t know where to begin
I have no words to describe
The feelings I have inside.
I don’t know what I’ll do
When you take your last breath.
I don’t know how I will ever be able to carry on.
Will I forget your face
Or your loving hands?
How I so wish to make you proud of me
And I’m sorry you had to live with my growing pains,
But I’m so very glad you did.
Because Mama, I never would have made it without you
Everything I am,
I am because of you.
