Falling Star

Falling Star

written by: John Anthony Fingleton (Löst Viking)

Somewhere along the Cliffs of Moher,
I watched a falling star,
Propelling from the heavens
Heading out towards Inishmore.

By the same coincidence?
Off the ocean, rose a mist,
That gently touched my upturned face
Like a lovers farewell kiss.

I quickly said a silent prayer,
While trying to memorise the words,
It had been many years since I believed;
In this topsy-turvy world.

Was this some soul that had passed away?
Or one returning back to Earth?
I hoped, if it did not at least find Heaven –
It would find peace in its re-birth.
