For Aiden

For Aiden

written by: S. Rin

Somewhere in the wilderness, you handed me binoculars and told me to keep my eyes on the leopard.

You told me the importance of every move and instinct.
I watched the cat, while you watched me.

“I think it’s beautiful,” I said.
“So do I,” you replied.

I can never understand, how you love me when I am distracted—and you never understand why my eyes look elsewhere; but where does one go when the leopard is facing you without binoculars in between?

Where does one go at the face of terrifying beauty that is love?

I face you—and I see you clearly…that is all I know.
