A gold light cast on a ripple of fresh water,
leading me to you.
You reached for me from the darkness.
I found your finger,
energizing my tiny heart.
Our hearts beat in unison as the light of the earth,
waited for my first steps,
wobbly, knowing you could feel me anywhere on earth,
Mom.
