Friends To The End

Friends To The End

written by: Jill Sharon Kimmelman

True friends celebrate your victories
believe in your crazy dreams,
show up somewhere on your bucket list
love that your heart…like a favorite flower
opens its blossoms to welcome you home
(even it’s been quite a while)

True friends understand
the beauty and blessing of companionable silence
they sense when a hug is needed,
when to back away for a little while
the magical healing power of a shared meal…equally delicious conversation…
and the gift of a million mixed memories

A true friend is an un-edited poem
who will hold you tight
whisper words of encouragement
and love you forever
knowing that you…without hesitation
will always do the same

To my beloved friends
you are…each one of you…priceless gems
who I will treasure…cherish… admire, as I stand in awe…trust…believe in…and love
in this life and In the ones to follow

Thank you for the greatest gift of all…the blessing of our loving friendship
