Glassy Glance

 Glassy Glance

written by: Anahit Arustamyan

A round mirror captures my face.
The golden frame of the mirror reflects grace.
However, the mirror speaks to every age.
The glass is pure like the water in a lake.
The glass is too cold to comfort me or someone else.
However, I see my own hand.
It jumps out of the mirror to touch my face.
How much have I changed?
The mirror tells the truth in haste.
My hand touches my eyelids in the waves.
Maybe my eyes haven’t changed.
They may have more pages to save.
I see my own hand that strokes my face.
I see my hand in the glassy glance.
It touches the ages on their trace.
The waves seem to stand.
They stand in the glassy glance.
