God, Not God
written by: Vedant Dobwal
If thou hadst the choice to know
whether thou art God or not,
wouldst thou choose to know?
Wouldst thou seek the verity—
whether thyself art truly God?
Wouldst thou be God?
If thou choosest to know,
thou shalt know the truth.
But then—wouldst thou accept it?
For if thou dost,
the very rationale of thyself may fail.
And yet, the truth remains.
So, if knowing what is true of thyself
has the power to alter thee,
then thou hast discovered something beyond thyself—
an “a” of thyself,
and of everything else,
an association,
a tacit verity
that existed before thy knowing of it.
And if thou choosest to possess that knowledge,
is that choice itself the very rationale of thy being?
Or art thou still God—
teaching humanity the way it ought to be,
had humanity known that it was God?
For God is as God was,
and shall be as God will be—
nothing more,
nothing less.
Then there is only this:
If it is,
thou art not God.
And if thou art—
art thou God
teaching thyself the way thou oughtest to be?
Or art thou
simply human?
