It has been given to me
Yet I find it difficult to extend to others
What makes me think they are undeserving
When they have deemed me worthy
I wonder if a grudge has been held too long
Maybe a past hurt that hasn’t healed
But kindness given and kindness received
Makes it easier to offer grace
When things do not go as they should
When words are said that wound
When actions prove to be self motivated
When behaviors that impact others continue
I must remember to extend grace
Knowing it may never been granted to me
