Half-Life

Half-Life

written by: Kenneth Vincent Walker

Descending to where
No one knows.
For darkness begins
With a subtlety.

Mad illuminations
Throwing stones
Form this half-life
Which quizzically
Confounds me.

Rescinding all that
I’ve ever known.
Well, it has never been
My specialty.

Recapturing each
Moment I’ve blown.
For the best laid plans
Are the ones that are
The most frightening.
