Hole In My Heart
written by: George Gad Economou
there’s a hole in my heart.
I’ve tried to cement it with meth, cocaine, heroin, PCP, painkillers, LSD,
anything and everything I could get my hands on.
there’s a hole in my heart.
I’ve tried to build a graphite dome around it but it still leaks.
I’ve tried to rebuild it with false love.
the hole remains, growing larger every year.
there’s a hole in my heart, and I’ve
come to terms with it. I fill it with booze every night and
it allows me temporarily to forget about it.
there’s a hole in my heart and no matter what I’ve tried
it’ll never heal.
the ghost living inside it loves bourbon as much as I do.
