I Replay you in an Ocean of Times

I Replay you in an Ocean of Times

written by: Bilkuei A’Anyar

i replay you in an ocean of times,
searching to know what it means when—

you’re a song i sing
you’re a garden of puffy leaves
implanted are sweet verses.

you’re a poem
typically a five-foot iambic form
wrapped on my chest;
a bouquet of flowers;
a bouquet of poems metaphored
on valentine’s day when lovers
forechoose to read flowers instead of poetry.

if i could see a flower—
on my way of solitude, pairing
it to your favorite attires—
i’d pluck it off the filament;
sense the aroma;
glue it to the beats of my heart.

after a long ruin
after a long run,
i erase the languor of days
by writing those poems i stitch with your smiles
by writing those poems i architect within your beauty
or by writing in the language
you could at ease comprehend.

what else remains
if my heart dearly pays allegiance
to your own?
for you are a poem
i woke up with in my hands
coiling like a snake out for a worm,
contorting his body to break his cocoon.
