Induction
written by: Shahnaz Keya
On a sweet shiny morning, I entered
Entered the jungle
The lovely creatures surrounded me
I sang along
Carefully treading, I went into the deep green
Deeper than the Amazon
Then
As it was destined
I lost the track.
I kept walking, moving, running
To find a way
A way that could give me relief
A way to break the illusion
From the darkness.
Then I fell with a string
A single string that took me out
To an enlightened world
Full of flowers
The smell drove me crazy
Mesmerised by the green lake,
I sat down, envisioned,
Imagined,
Imagined how the spring would bloom in this place
I put my legs down into the lake
What a chilly feeling!
The birds whispered to my ear
I looked at the sky,
What a soothing scene!
All of a sudden,
It got dark.
I blinked;
Drowsiness hovered
I couldn’t smell anymore;
It looked blurry;
Now I look at my legs with half-closed eyes
It’s the string!
It was the string!
String of momentary sweetness!
Yet it was the string!
And I fall asleep.
