JENGA

written by: TM DiSarro

I feel for those who've lost their way
Defined by who we think they are
Convicted by the words they pray
As wishes die on shooting stars

I understand how life can't wait
While tender memories turn to dust
We seal our fate in those we hate
Then lose our hearts to those we trust

This life is built as Jenga blocks
A balance of the soul and mind
As tides will turn our worlds will tilt
Foundations are so hard to find

I know for sure it's not for me
To put a bullet in my ear
Dissolve like salt into the sea
To hang inside a well of tears

I feel your pain and sense it's true
The dark of days I see so clear
These flaming hoops
You're jumping through
Eventually will disappear

I've walked along a razor's edge
Then ran into the rising sun
Talked myself down off a ledge
And fell into the arms of one

I know that love will conquer fear
My faith is bigger than my pain
My strength comes from the life I share
My purpose here is not in vain

I do not consider myself a writer but I love to write. Neither a poet but I love poetry. I steal bits and pieces of time to scratch out ideas on note books, laptops and cell phones. I live and work in Florida fabricating custom canvas and other fabric products and sometimes costumes.
