Junk

An old model
parked in a corner lot
of a high-rise casting
a gloom over the automobile
past its prime

the windshield
bonnet
covered with grime
of the passage of time
rusted exterior
red raw

a mushroom
large headed
swaying under the
chassis, fourth tyre
deflated, pathetic

a skull
a flower
a name
scrawled
out of the layers
of cruel dust piled up

the neat strokes
the work of an expert
an angst-riddled graffiti artist.

This dust-covered sedan
is like that old man left at
the cross-roads by his sons
years ago but the poor parent
still crying and waiting near the junction
for a glimpse of his sons.
