Lab Escape

written by: Anne G

Lab escape
travels tread
reared its head

Poisoned droplets
human fed
Corona Virus
pandemic thread

Hand to face
contagion set
mandates issued
stop the spread

Six-foot distance
social rule
no work, no church
no school; Don't fret!

The Feds & Gov
the CDC
Surgeon General
make their case

Masks and gloves
new world order
stay in place

Nervous ticks
phrases, trends
common denominator
test our strength

Jobs in peril
life on hold
more restrictions
flatten the curve

Elusive end
walls close in
sleepless nights
slow the pace

Out damned spot
novelle curse
malicious seeding
leave, at once

Why write?
I write because I am:
Driven to distraction by the inequities of the society in which we live.
Motivated by cruelty, abuse, ignorance and indifference.
My intention: To poke, prod and provoke!
"Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess." - Oscar Wilde
