Let’s Not Talk About The Past

Let’s Not Talk About the Past

Let us not talk about the past
For it is like the sand on the seashore
It is there for a moment, gone the next
It casts a shadow on my present
It disrupts the current
Let us not talk about the past
Even though there are moments blissful there
When the present seems a burden
The future seems bleak
Let us not talk about the past
As the clock cannot be wound back
The tide doesn’t retreat
The pain will not diminish
Let us forget the past
For the rays of the sun never keep count
They nurture and brighten everything around
