Lime Row Terrace
written by: Jenny Middleton
No-one writes their name beside the doorbells of the apartment blocks on Lime Row Terrace. Numbers are enough for deliveries to be delivered and offer anonymity, which to some is a valuable commodity. An X in algebra can shift its value between equations as quickly as a speed-dater switches dates. Every Wednesday, I hear the man upstairs moving through an exercise routine, he lunges against the floorboards, pants warrior, lion, then cobra in-between push-ups.
street trees draw
breath into their bark –
his lost luggage
