Lost Thinking

Lost Thinking

written by: Shihab Uddin

I stood alone in emptiness;
Though success was with me.
I stood before time,
And success gripped me.
Again, I stood with the rough winds.

Bright summer pushed ahead;
But I sat with winter thoughts.
Again, I stood alone on the road,
But still—I kept thinking.
Again, success pulled me.

I stood during dreaming,
Because I chose a new day.
I feared Dover Beach beneath the moon,
With the silence of an empty morning.
And that became my lost thinking.
